I'm A Lily

Jun. 8th, 2012 08:36 pm
Greetings to all.

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Lily Rose Poss. Some of you may know me by another name or should i

say names. These no longer mean anything to me, only Lily Rose Poss now. Why you may be wondering? The answer is

simply this, I had it officially and legally changed. As of May 24 about 1:47 I was granted the new name of Lily

Rose Poss. Again you may be asking yourselves why. Once again, the answer is simple. i like the name Lily? Ok not

the full reason but...we'll go with it. My reasons are pretty private actually, if you really wish to know message

me privately and i'll fill you in.
There are some who won't even try to get used to Lily and it sort of hurts but tis whatever, I can't get people to

change their minds. I'd appreciate it if people would make the effort at least. I know it's hard and i'm not saying

to be able to do it over night but I like the fact that a person tries.
For those who may read this and doubt that I seriously and truely had it changed, aask me to show you papers, I'd

happily do it just to prove you wrong. I'm sorry if you find those words harsh and find me to be acting like a bitch

but there are those in the past who have douted me for things and really if they were friends they never would have.

I'm sorry I really shouldnt' be bringing up my past but I get on a tangent at times.

And now in honor of the name change, have a quiz. LOL!

You Are A Lily

You are a nurturer and all around natural therapist.

People see you as their rock. And they are able to depend on you.

You are a soothing influence. You can make people feel better with a few words.

Your caring has more of an impact than even you realize.

Work's going really well. I stil love my job but there are times I wish we could just go back to being an airport shuttle service. Some of the people we encounter on grey hound...welll, I'll be nice but, man.
We now have two new shuttle drivers. Tami, (pronounced Tammy) and Therse, (pronounced tereese). I'm not sure what to think of them as i haven't really had the chance to sit and talk with them. They seem nice enough and Tami seems like she'd be fun to hang out with.

Well it's almost time for dinner to arrive so I'm going to shove off for now. I'll write again soon, i promise. i think i just need to start writing again to get my thaughts down before my head explodes from thaught overload.

For now, bye bye.

<3hugs to those who want them<3.

Lily
Greetings readers.

It's been eons since i have posted or so it seems. Life's taken some interesting twists and turns and i don't even know where to begin. That's for another day however.

I was going through my tweets and came across something that I thaught I'd check out. It was certainly worth the read and so I thaught too that i'd post it here for your reading enjoyment. Well more for anyone who may be interested. I won't put this behind a cut because I feel that it's very important to have put this out here. I'm not really sure how much is true and what's not but after you read you can give your own assessments and for your own oppinions. As for me, i think I will do more research into some of these health hazards. Who knew taking a shower could kill you? I certainly had no idea. Anyway, here you go.

Health Habits You Didn't Know Could Kill You

THE TRIANGLE OF DEATH ON YOUR FACE

There's a new health terror sweeping the nation called the "Triangle of Death," and it lives on your face. Dr. Oz coined the term when he covered this health hazard on his show. The triangle includes the areas of your face extending from the corners of your mouth to the bridge of your nose.

What makes the area so dangerous is that the blood vessels there drain to the back of the head and connect to the veins at the base of the brain, which pumps that blood throughout the rest of the body. Any damage that breaks the skin in the triangle exposes the body to bacteria and infections, which can cause headaches, blindness, paralysis, and even death.

Maybe you should think twice before you pop that zit or try to get the crust out of your nose after a cold.

Taking a Shower

Your body has to maintain a certain temperature - neither too hot nor too cold - in order to function properly, but depending on how you like to take your showers, you could be putting yourself at risk.

Extreme and sudden exposure to both heat and cold can actually kill you, as it did a 62-year-old man when he was made to take a freezing-cold shower in a Chinese labor camp in 2008. Of course, the younger and more fit you are, the easier it is for your body to maintain the right internal temperature, but it doesn't hurt to be aware of the risk.

Your Shampoo

If your shampoo has Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) in it, you might consider switching to a different brand. SLS is responsible for the foamy consistency of the shampoo's lather, but it can also cause severe liver abnormalities and kidney damage that can be fatal.

Like most potentially dangerous chemicals, however, you'd have to ingest a LOT of shampoo in order to incur any serious damage, so don't chuck your favorite herbal scrub just yet.

Cleaning Your Ears

You've probably heard that you shouldn't put anything in your ear that's smaller than your thumb, but almost all of us violate that rule when we clean our ears with cotton swabs. The eardrum inside the ear (through that hole you're not supposed to poke around in!) is very fragile, and if you puncture it during a vigorous cleaning, you allow bacteria to slip past the broken tissue into your inner ear.

A man in Montreal died three years ago when he contracted meningitis from bacteria that entered through the eardrum, which he'd punctured from excessive and rigorous cleaning. Doctors even suggested that he had probably caused the initial bacterial infection expressly because he cleaned his ears too often.

Let that be a lesson to you: keep those swabs out of your ears!

Plucking Your Nose Hair

When you pluck those bristly strands out of your nose, you tear the skin around it, which allows bacteria to find its way into your body. Of course, this not only includes bacteria inside your nose that those hairs have been filtering out, but also anything you've stuffed up there from whatever you've touched before you went prospecting in your nasal cavities.

Once that bacteria creeps into your body from that ominous "Triangle of Death," you could find yourself with a host of health problems, including potentially fatal conditions. Using an electronic nose hair trimmer is much less risky and won't cause the same kind of pain and irritation that plucking does.

Cleaning Your Teeth

Okay, so we're not talking about brushing or flossing your teeth. Please, continue to do both! But be careful the next time you take a toothpick to drive your lunch leftovers out of the spaces between your teeth.

Toothpicks are sharp, and if you break a piece of the toothpick off, that pointy little end could cause one mountain of trouble inside your body. If it gets stuck in your throat, your body will swell around the irritant that can block your esophagus and prevent you from breathing.

It can also pierce or tear your intestinal tract, which would spill bacteria and digestive juices into the rest of your body and cause sepsis, which can and often does kill you. Yikes.

Popping a Zit

That Triangle of Death we talked about? Popping zits in this area is a huge risk factor for your health. Zits are filled with bacteria and puss, and when you pop a zit in "the triangle" you break the skin and allow that bacteria to creep into your body. Infections can cause headaches, blurred vision and blindness, paralysis, and even death.

Popping zits also causes scarring, so if your overall livelihood isn't motivation enough, the fact that your perfect visage will be marred from all that pimple pressing hopefully will.

Drinking Water

Yep, it's true. Water is great for your body, and you need to drink water throughout the day to rehydrate, but if you drink too much water for the kidneys to process - for adults, roughly 15 liters over the course of a day - you could risk water overdose.

Excess water that the kidneys can't process flows into salt-rich areas in the body, specifically the cells. Because there is a finite amount of space inside the brain, water-logged brain cells will cause the brain to swell with no room for relief. According to Scientific American, this condition can result in seizures, coma, respiratory arrest, brain stem herniation, and death.

Early symptoms include headache and vomiting. Just be careful.
Eating Vegetables

If you're a big fan of spuds, you'd better double check the skin before you settle on baked potatoes for dinner.

Solanine is a naturally occurring toxin that forms when potatoes are exposed to too much light. If the color of the potato just under the skin is green, it's a good indicator that Solanine has built up in the potato. If ingested, symptoms include headache, nausea, fatigue, and intestinal issues.

Don't chuck tonight's dinner plans if you find your potatoes look a little green, though. Just make sure you cut away the green portions of the skin before you cook and eat them.

Eating Fruits

Apples, pears, peaches, mangoes, and apricots all have one thing in common: they contain a chemical called amygdalin, which in large amounts can turn into hydrogen cyanide.

Amygdalin is found in the seeds, pits, and kernels of these fruits, and in (very) large quantities can be fatal. So you shouldn't use it as an excuse to skip healthy fruits altogether, but it's a good case for consuming foods in moderation.

More from the Lily when I feel up to writing again. I'm hoping that will occur soon. I've got soooo much to write about.

[Error: unknown template qotd]Good morning to all!

Today's game belong's to The Patriots! Go Pats! Let's kick some Giant butt out there today!

Yes, I'm hoping that the Patriots will win today. These two teams as some of you may recall faced off once before and the Patriots just couldn't pull off the victory that time. They had won every single game that year and then lost to the NY Giants in the final game of the year. Now these two teams are facing one another again and I think this time that the Pats will come through for me. LOL!

GO PATS!!!!!!

It seems like it's been forever since i have last posted a quiz and what a quiz to start posting with again as I do so love the angry birds. No, that wasn't sarcasm at all, I really am obsessed with the game. I wish there was a way that a totally blind person could play as I would all the time. For me, it would be a very good outlet for my tempers. LOL!

You Are the White Bird

You are lovable, endearing, and affectionate. People gravitate toward your positive spirit.

You are warm-hearted, witty, and even irreverent. You have an outrageous sense of humor that gets people laughing.

You are very liable and charming. People simply enjoy being around you.

You are an amazing friend. You are always there for the people you care about.

Thanks for being so patient for me to write. I have a true entry coming, no it's not just empty words, I really do. I'm not even sure why exactly I haven't been able to write lately. I can write a fanfic or I should say work on my fanfic but lately when it comes to journal entries, i'm horrible. I swore to myself that I was going to write this year as often as I could and the last time I did an entry was on the first of Januray and on that day I was sportin a hangover and just couldn't get it together. Ok well, I'll be back again to write.

Happy 2012!

*Looks around for Severus, damn! Where could he be? I'd love a hangover potion right about now. I knew i should have brewed my own*.

Greetings from the hungover potions mistress.

I just wanted to write and say happy New Year to you all! May 2012 be a much better year than the last. For those who wish it, I hope that this year is a great one. What I mean is, if you had a horrible year in 2011, may 2012 be your year. AS for me? Well, there are parts I definitely could have done without. It wasn't all bad of course but eep? Let's see if I can stay out of the hospital this year.

Amuch more thorough update to come when I find out how to get rid of the rampaging herd of hipogriffs that are running over my body. I'm making way too many typos to write any more. I'm finding myself making more corrections than I normally do and that's saying something.

Ok, taking my not so lively feeling self back to bed, after feeding Ozzy of course. Again, happy New Year!

I honestly don't know what possesses me to do things sometimes. I know that may have sounded random but I assure you that it isn't, it was a legitimate statement.
Last night I for whatever reason decided it would be a good idea to stay on the phone with my ex, Chris till almost midnight. Maybe it has to do with the fact he hasn't called me in months and picked last night to call me to thank me for his gift. It wasn't much really, I only gave him my Harry Potter movies on DVD. I baught the box set on the day it was released and so I sent him my other originals as he wanted but couldn't afford them. I didn't mind sending them at all and I knew that Aryanna and Christian would enjoy them as well. Aryanna is 3 and Christian is turning 2 on December 22 but they are both little HP fans, I think it's cute. I know tis only right to thank a person for things but really, did I really need to spend all that time on the phone with him? I don't know what to think or feel about this. I miss him, not like miss him as in wanting to date him miss him, but he was well, is, considered to be one of my best friends. There are times i just want to pick up the phone and call him just to chat but I don't out of respect for his wife. It doesn't help that she doesn't like me either but there are just those times I want to say I don't care what she feels and call him. I however am not that kind of person. Not to mention my affections are elsewhere.
Chris began to talk to me about his pending divorce and the long road he will have ahead of him. He's happy that his marriage will be over and I feel bad for his children because they won't have their father whom they adore to know ends. He's an excellent father and will miss his children deeply. Alisha will be taking them with her back to Idaho and told Chris that if he wants to see them again he'll have to go to Idaho as she will never set foot in Georgia ever again. She once told him that if he loves them, he'll make the trip. i have absolutely no doubts that he will go to see them. My feelings twoards Alisha are...well...not so nice but I'll refrain from showing them at this time.
Anyway, this wasn't supposed to be about her, it was about my silly actions to talk to Chris on the phone forever last night. The Vamp keeps telling me i'm still in love with him but I know this not to be the case. Those feelings died a long time ago when he told me he had gotten married. Chris's feelings are not mine though, he is still in love with me and says he always has been and will be. He is still hoping I will go to him after his divorce is final and be a stepmother to Aryanna and Christian, he already refers to them as my stepchildren. No matter how many times I tell him that i can never be that to them, nor can I love him like i once did, he still has this hope that we will get back together.
UGH!!!!! WHY DOES LIFE HAVE TO BE SO DAMNED COMPLICATED!!!!!!! *Throws hands up in frustration*.

7:05 AM 12/17/2011

Yesterday I went to a Xmas party. It was actually sort of fun and there were a few requests for me to sing. I at first wasn't going to do it as I was so tired from work but finally I gave in and sang three songs. I found i miss going to karaoke. I also saw Johnny there as he was performing. I have missed him very much. He doesn't perform much in Mankato anymore and it saddens me. Last night he played at the Wine Cafe but as it was snowing to beat hell outside I decided to stay home instead... obviously as I wrote above about my long phone convo with Chris. Back to the party... Well, the whole time i was there I was question thoroughly about my knowledge of Magic Jack of which i have absolutely none. The only thing I know is that it costs like $20 a year and that it works through the computer using your internet. Personally i don't really care about Magic Jack if i am to be completely honest with myself. The food there was pretty good. They had Subway cater in sandwiches, that was pretty awesome as Subway is one of my most favorite places to eat. People had made different dishes to bring as well and having no lunch at work I was pretty hungry by the time i got there. I was in line getting food when someone said to me, Wow it looks like you are eating pretty healthy. They apparently looked at the many fruits and veggies on my plate...I just sort of chuckled as I have bene eating healthier for a while now. i just said yep and went on through the line. The party lasted about two and a half hours, it would have lasted longer but the snow was coming down pretty hard and people were wanting to get home.
After mostly everyone was gone, I made an atempt to escape out the door when there was a hand on my arm and a voice asking where do you think you are going? It was Johnny. I froze for a moment and then slowly turned around only to find arms encircling me. i hugged him back and rested my head on his shoulder for a few seconds before coming back to my senses. He said, "I've missed you." and then asks, "How have you been?" So that's how it went for about 30 minutes, us catching up on what the other had been up to. Before leaving, he gave me one last hug and I was able to make the great escape this time. It wasn't that I didn't wish to speak to him or maybe it was, I don't know. Writing about him just brings up a bunch of feelings i don't care to acknowledge anymore.

8:28 AM 12/17/2011

Today I will go and do a bit of Xmas shopping, at least that's the current plan. i haven't been out since yesterday so not sure how much more snow we aquired. In my eyes, any amount of snow is too much snow for me. I was never fond of the white stuff really.

Well, I suppose this is it for now. I'm not sure how I managed to come up with the will to write as I really didn't write a whole terribly lot about what's going on with me. I really need to try and update here more than I have been.

Oh and before I forget...I did create an LJ for my HP fanfiction. The url is http://gothiclily11@livejournal.com
I haven't started posting there as of yet but I will try once a week or so to post a chapter of the current fanfic i'm writing. I know a couple of you have asked to beta for me and i will consider it. I'm not used to having a beta so I'm not sure but I will definitely think about it. Thanks to those who have offered however.

With this said, I shall take my leave now.

Good morning and a very happy Thanksgiving to all those who celebrate.

So on
  • Live Journal the question was asked, "What are you most thankful for?" I can't exactly say I'm thankful for one thing, I have many reasons to be thankful on this holiday. In no particular order, just to list some of them:

    Family
    Friends
    Music
    My health
    My job
    Good books to read
    Fanfiction
The gift of song, (I have to acknowledge my singing, otherwise I may get my arse kicked.) LOL!
Love, the ability to love and to be loved in return.
The senses: sound, touch, smell and taste. My sight may not work anymore but I'm thankful for the senses that do work.
I'm thankful for life, everyday that I wake up and the breaths I'm able to take.
And one more thing to list, I'm thankful for Alan Rickman because without him I wouldnt' have a favorite actor. LOL! OH come on now, how many of you didn't think i'd put him in my list? And just a quick letter to Santa...

    Dear Santa,

For Yule as I don't celebrate Xmas I'd like Alan Rickman under my tree. I don't wish to keep him, I would just like to borrow him just for a little while. You see I haven't been sleeping well and i'm sure that if i had him for only a little while I'd fall asleep to his rich velvety voice as he reads me bedtime stories. But In case you can't manage it, I'm thankful i have The Return Of The Native, the book he narrates, I suppose that will have to suffice. But if you can accomplish it for me, I promise to return him after a bit. Oh and i've been very naughty this year, sorry I just can't seem to behave myself. See? at least I was honest.

    Sincerely,
    Lily

    Hahah! Ok in all seriousness...

I may not have bene so elaborate on the list I have made and there are so many more things I'm thankful for, but just because I didn't put them in my list does not mean I'm any les thankful. As I said above, i have many reasons to be thankful this day.

I'd like to wish you all a happy Turkey Day if you celebrate it. I hope you eat lots of turkey and get extremely stuffed. I hope the time you spend with friends and family is lots of fun.
As for my plans? it's off to a pot luck with friends and lots of food and people I've never met before. I always get nervous around those I don't know very well or those I've never met, after all first impression is everything. Although, i don't normally care about what others think of me, as long as I am myself right? *Shakes my head*, for the moment I won't think about it.

All right, off to help with preparations for the day. I'll be back soon with another entry as I still owe you a review of Breaking Dawn do I not? *smirks*.

  • [Error: unknown template qotd]My absolute favorite Disney movie without a doubt is Beauty And The Beast. Although I must say that The Lion King comes in a very close second. Cinderella was also a fave of mine. I can't forget my classic favorite, The Sword In The Stone. For some Halloween fun? I love Hocus Pocus. I especially love it when the one witch says, "A muck a muck a muck a muck." LOL!

Ok so that was definitely more than one but hey, who's counting? Well me obviously but yeah...

Back soon with a true update. Not that the writer's block questions aren't true updates but I'm sure my readers would like to see me post more than the occasional answer to the questions.

    I'm Alive

    Oct. 30th, 2011 06:33 am
    Greetings everyone.

I have been trying to write and post for about two weeks now but I can't seem to finish an entry. I'm not sure if i have journal burnout or what it is but whatever it is i hope it goes away. Writing has always been good therapy for me and it's bothering me that I can't seem to put my feelings into words lately.
I'm wondering if it is because I have been feeling pretty negative about everything recently and i don't wish to bring everyone else into my bad moods.
So I guess this little entry is just to say I'm still alive for those who have bene wondering where the potions mistress has been. Hopefully I will be able to write again soon.
I'm not sure yet but I may be giving up LJ for good. I have been playing with wordpress and other journal sites to see if i like them any better. I'm not sure yet so those of you who have me on your friends pages, please don't delete yet, I'll let you all know what I'm doing with this journal as soon as I know. i have used LJ for many years and so I may just keep it for sentimental reasons, I'm just not sure. :P
I have also been tossing around the idea of creating an lj for my fanfiction sense I don't relish the idea of posting on an actual fanfic site. I've been thinking about this for a while now. If I do this however I will have to make it an adult one only as my fics can get a bit...well...wild and I don't mean trouble wild. If I do this I'll let you all know that as well. Ok, I'm getting told I should so I am going to, I'll post the url here as soon as I get it created. :P

Well I suppose I am going to take off for now. Breakfast calls and I'm not likeing trying to type on the laptop anymore. I have to keep correcting typos. LOL!

Take care all, I'll try to write again soon.

Greetings to all who are reading this thing.

Let me just place a little disclaimer here...

DISCLAIMER!!!! This entry is full of rants and my thaughts and oppinions on a few subject matters, if you don't wish to read my thaughts and oppinions you may skip this entry. To those who's attention I have managed to capture and hold? Read on. END OF DISCLAIMER.

I have put most of this behind cuts so that my friends don't have to read a really long entry or you can sskip what you don't wish to read.

I started writing in this thing last Thursday so some of what you are about to read is not from today...obviously. *smirk*
It was Wednesday for example that i left my cell phone at home and not Thursday. I felt so naked without it that I decided to be more observant when it comes to my phone. Now having said that, onward!

Oh happy day, jokes for your reading pleasure...
I particularly love the first one, corny, but cute. I love The Doors.

Q: Why did chicken Jim Morrison cross the road? A: To break on through to the other side.
Q: What is a tornado? A: Mother nature doing the twist!
Q: What do you have if you have 100 rabbits in a row and 99 step back? A: A receding hare line!

    Fun Convos On Twitter )

LOL! definite fun times on twitter were had Thursday. Thanks @irish_storm and @tweeting_frog for making my day at work. While I do love my job and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world, there are times when it becomes stressful. Rude passengers and passengers who you have to repeat things for over and over again can sometimes make you wish to pull your hair out. LOL! There are days when I'm surprised that I have hair as long as I do. LOL! Maybe it's a good thing that my hair goes past me bum, that way when I do pull my hair out, I have lots to spare. No, really I don't pull out my hair litterally. :P

    My quote for the day:
The best relationships are when you can lay with each other and just talk about anything and everything.

That quote is very very true. If you can't do that, then I think that there's something wrong. Being able to talk to the one you are with about anything and everything is the best feeling in the world, well one of the best feelings. Communication is key in any relationship.

You have been warned, or are about to be...

Disclaimer: don't read this if you get offended by swearing )

And I have just one more rant, for now...

    Death Penalty Rant )

I was thinking I might put this behind a cut but it's to good to hide it. It makes a lot of sense if you think about it. I got this from my sister-in-law Sarah's facebook status.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:-Knowing when to come in out of the rain; - Why the early bird gets the worm;- Life isn't always fair; - And maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies, don't spend more than you can earn and adults, not children, are in charge. His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife Discretion, his daughter Responsibility, and his son, Reason. He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights,I Want It Now,Someone Else Is To Blame,I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, do nothing.

    I was highly amused. LMAO!

Well, i suppose I will go now. This entry has been long and took me just over five days to complete. I really need to sit and write and let you all know what's going on with me. I have just been so tired and haven't had a lot of energy lately. Living down here in the underground apartment I think is finally getting to me. I have been feeling sick and a bit weak and it's my belief that it could be due to the mold and bugs that you get from living in a basement. Living litterally six feet under was fun at first because of the jokes about my vampiric tendencies and because of who and what I am, but now I just am having a very hard time with this. That will soon be changing, yay! No matter where I move, I'm still me, a vampire and proud of that fact. :P
In all seriousness, I will write again soon with a more serious entry and maybe less rants, it just depends on what I hear in the news.

I am amazed by these beautiful and intelligent creatures. This is a very cool video about dolphins. They said most animals when seeing themselves in a mirror, they ignore it, but dolphins are different. They do realize they are seeing themselves. Absolutely amazing to me.
I found this very interesting as I have always had a particularly great interest in ocean creatures and the huge body of water itself. Many sea animals call the ocean their home and the blue whale is fascinating to me, just as much as the dolphins that I especially love.
Good morning all from The Cauldron.

Today we have brewing a favorite casserole of mine. It's very tasty and a sure way to get kids to eat vegetables. I used to make it for my daycare kids all the time. Now, you may want to double or even triple the recipe depending on how many you are making it for, or for those men in your life that like to eat a lot.

    Taco Casserole

    Ingredients:

3 cups uncooked bow tie pasta
    1 pound ground beef
    1/4 cup chopped onion
2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese (8 ounces)
    1 jar (16 ounces) salsa
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
    1 envelope taco seasoning
2 cups nacho tortilla chips crushed

    Instructions:

Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add the cheese, salsa, tomatoes and taco seasoning. Drain pasta; stir into beef mixture.

Transfer to a greased 11-in. x 7-in. baking dish. Cover and bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Uncover; sprinkle with tortilla chips. Bake 10 minutes longer or until heated through.

    Yield: 7 servings.

That's it for this week. I am, or rather I have decided to post the recipe weekly since I am more likely to update this thing.
Also for those of you who use dropbox and would like an invite to Lily's Cauldron, please let me know and I'll get you added. In there you will find the recipes I post here and so many many more.
If you have a recipe that you'd like to see posted, let me know and I'll get it posted for you. Have one you'd like to share? Drop me a comment and we can get it all set up.

    Until next time...

[Error: unknown template qotd]This is painful to write, not only because so many people lost their lives on that day, not because someone thaught that they were bigger and better than us and not because someone decided that it would be fun to play God and bring down the twin towers, but because I lost one of my best friends. I lost my husband on 9/11 of 2004 as well. So when you want to know where I was on 9/11 2001, the reason it is so painful is because I was at my husband's parents house. At the time he was my fiancee but same person. So when I think about this date, I think of all who were lost in 2001 and I think of Jim who was lost on 2004. There will be an entry for this later however.

The day the towers fell, I was at Jims' parents house. I was just waking up and I was listening to the radio. I can never sleep unless i have the radio or tv in the background. As I was waking up, I heard the DJ who was on at the time talking about the first tower being hit by a plane. At first, I didn't really think anything of it, I thaught maybe it was an accident. I didn't think much of it because plane crashes happen sometimes. I was sad to think of the people on the plane and in the tower where the plane hit but I never in a million years thaught it to be bigger than just a simple plane crash. I don't say simple as in, no big deal either just so you know. As the DJ kept talking, I started to get a really bad feeling in my stomach, not that i wasn't already feeling extremely sick and feeling like something was wrong. I had been feeling it ever since before that Tuesday. I'll explain that in a bit though. I got out of bed and ran to the TV, grabbed the remote and turned it on. I immediately saw the second plane hit the second tower. I realized then that this was no accident, I knew that we were under attack. I didn't know who was behind it, I just knew we were in trouble. All of that day, I was pretty much glued to the TV waiting for news of what was going on. When I heard who was behind the attacks, I was stunned. To me, terrorists were just something I read about in books and watched in movies. I mean, I can remember watching Hans Gruber in the movie Die Hard and laughing at him. I know that terrorists do exist, I'm not that naive but to have something like this hit in the US was pretty surprising to me, I sat and was trying to figure out who we had angered. I'm sorry, this is no laughing matter but when something gets way too serious I always try and think of a way to lighten the mood. It's how I deal with things sometimes. My apologies to those I may have offended, that was not my intent. But I digress, back to the topic at hand. I then heard about the plane that hit the Pentagon and the one that crashed in the field in Pennsylvania. My fears were confirmed.

The Friday before 9/11 2001, so it would have been 9/7 2001, I felt like something was going to happen and it was going to be bad. I told Jim that i felt as if something was horribly wrong and he asked me what I thaught it was. I told him I didn't know, i can never tell what's going to happen, i can just feel it when something is going to happen. Every day after that the feeling kept getting worse. By Monday Sept 10, it was so bad I was feeling physically sick and told Jim as much. I had no idea it was going to be that huge.

So, when you ask where I was on September 11 2001? In the long way of giving you my answer, I was at jim's parents house.

I would just like to take this time to say, to the passengers and crew of Flight 93, may your memory live on. You were brave till the end and stopped another target from getting hit. You all faught and paid the ultimate price for doing so. Thank you to you all, you will never be forgotten. May you all rest in peace.

To all the others who died on this day back in 2001, you too will not be forgotten. Lots of innocent lives were lost and for what? Because someone decided that they needed to play God with your lives. To you, rest in peace as well. Your memory lives on as well.

To the Fire fighters, policemen and women who responded and lost your lives, may you all find peace in the afterlife as well. You too are not forgotten.

And finally, and hopefully I'm not forgetting anyone, thank you to the military for all of your hard work. Thank you for protecting this country and fighting for our freedoms as little as they are becoming these days. To those in the military who have lost their lives fighting for this country, may you all rest in peace, you are not forgotten.

To those i may have forgotten to mention, know that you are certainly not any less important than those of 9/11 2001. The FBI, the CIA and all who work to stop attacks from happening and who keep our countries secrets, thank you to you too.

To the TSA? lighten up! we don't appreciate having our bodies scanned for the world to see. But I must say, thank you for your thorough cecurity checks at the airports to try and prevent another tragedy like the one in 2001 from happening. I may not approve of what you guys do totally but you do protect us the best you can.

Now having said all of that, for everyone else's sanity, I will end this entry. I'll be back later with another entry for my readers.

    <3hugs to all<3
Take care of each other and don't miss an opportunity to tell your family and loved ones that you love them, you just never know. Life's too short not to.

[Error: unknown template qotd]This is a tough question to answer as I love Queen and most of their music. As for the why part of this question, Queen was an amazing band! Today would have been Freddy Mercury's 65th birthday. He was born 5 September 1946 and died 24 November 1991. Very very sad. He was too young to have left this world. Since I don't have a particular song that I like, here are a few of my favorites just to name a few...

    We Will Rock You.
This song is good for rallying people. I think it's a Good mood song, you can't help get that rush of energy when you hear this song.

    We Are The Champions.
This song reminds us that we are champions in everything we do. It tells us that no matter what keep fighting and in the end we will all overcome what ever it is we are trying to achieve. We are all winners. The only time we are losers is when we fail and don't try again. If we try again, we win eventually.

    Princes Of The Universe.
I can't exactly say why I love this song so much. I just do...lame I know for an answer but it's an answer nonetheless. It was the opening of a show i used to watch all the time. Damn! I'm trying to remember wich show it was now...Oh what the hell was it now? Oh yes!!!! It was Highlander!!!! Bloody hell I'm getting old! My memory isn't what it used to be. LOL! Anyway, it was a show that came out in the 90's and it rocked.

    You're My Best Friend.
It's a song that one could use to say how they feel about a best friend of theirs. Enough said about that.

    Friends Will Be Friends.
This one is one of my favorites because it's basically saying that friends will always be their no matter what. A friend will never dessert you and when a friend is true, they will be there forever till your last days on earth. When times get hard for you, your friends will especially be there for you. They will be there to catch your fall, to pick you up when you are in need of a good laugh and for life's struggles and hardships. Friends will be friends.

    Fat Bottomed Girls.
I like this one because it's a fun song. It's definitely a cool song to sing to.

There are more I love but if I named every Queen song that i love, I'd be sitting here for quite a while writing them out and the reasons why. LOL! Like i said, this was a hard question to answer. I don't have just one, I have many. RIP Freddy Mercury. He was an amazing musician.

An entry to come soon. I have much to write about.

[Error: unknown template qotd]I'd have to say, Lord Voldemort from Harry Potter, self explanitory, or Dolores Umbridge for her treatment of the Hogwarts students. Poor Harry and his hand with "I must not tell lies" inscribed there.

    Complete evil at it's finest.

"Good friends are like stars. They are so far away but you know they are always there to give a twinkle during your darkest days."

I love this quote. I would like to think that I am someone's star, and i'd twinkle for my friends anytime, Especially in the darkest of times. I love my friends as I see them as my family and would do just about anything for them. I shouldn't say I'd like to think that I am someone's star, I know that am a few people's star that I know of already.
Always love and charish your friends for one day we will leave this earth for the next big adventure and you don't want to go not having let your friends know how you feel for them.
So before I get all sappy and philosophical, on to the next subject...

    Always Remember To Forget

    Always remember to forget
The things that made you sad
    But never forget to remember
The things that made you glad.

    Always remember to forget
    The friends that proved untrue.
    But don't forget to remember
Those that have stuck by you.

    Always remember to forget
The troubles that have passed away.
    But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.

I got that in an e-mail the other day and wanted to share it with you all. To me it is very good advice. I sometimes forget to forget about the bad things and to remember the good. I'm thinking if I can think about the good and don't think about the bad, I would be a much happier person. Sometimes though I think that thinking about the bad helps us to remember the mistakes we made and this helps us to not repeat them, or i'd sure like to think so. Man there were a lot of thinks and thinking going on in that last thing I wrote about. :P

To all who are in the path of Hurricane Irene, I hope you all stay safe and that you are all ok. To those who have already had her come through, I hope that you are all ok and that there wasn't too much damaged from the winds and rain. I can't imagine what it would be like to go through a hurricane. I used to live in Georgia and we got the remnants from one once and there was a lot of rain but nothing too bad. Anyway, again stay safe out there everyone. I read on Twitter that some people are having parties to pass the time while Irene makes her way through, there's one way to pass the time I suppose. LOL! Make the best of a bad situation, sounds fun to me.

Well, I suppose I don't have too much more to say really. Hey, it happens. Sometimes I get on a writing kick and i can't seem to stop, and then there are those times like now when I don't have a lot to say. So for now, goodbye and I'll be around again later.

    Greetings.

First off I'd like to say that my heart goes out to all the people affected by yesterday's earthquake. I can't believe how many states were able to feel it. Thank God there were to my knowledge, no fatalities.
Also to those who could quite possibly be in the path of Hurricane Irene, please be safe and be careful out there. I worry for those in New England *ahem* and of course for those that are in the path of the storm. My thaughts to you all. As I said, stay safe.

It's been a while but here I finally am. Before I get to the what's been going on in my life part of this entry, I'd like to share this extremely amusing joke that I got from my coworker, Barb. Jason read it as well and he cracked up.
For all of you who are fans of "the dark lord,"...erm...sorry, I mean President Obama, you may not wish to read what's behind the cut. If you are not an Obama fan, by all means proceed.

    Obama Joke )

    Sorry, I couldn't resist, I love it!

    My New Computer )

I have been teaching myself how to use a MAC. So far it's not so bad. I'm thinking that I would love to use that instead of running Windows. I need to play with it more however before i make that decision final. It was funny though because I was on the regular windows laptop and I was trying to give it MAC commands. I was highly amused when I realized what I was doing. Yep, definitely time to get a MAC.

I've got a new book that I wish to read, the problem for me is that it is in print. I need a scanner so I can scan it and read it. I'm all kinds of excited to read it! The book is simply called Alan Rickman. It's about his life and everything he has done and accomplished up to present. I can't wait!

    Doctor Visit )

This past Saturday we went shopping at Wallie World (Wal-Mart.) I had to see if I could find some stuff for my bed, a bedbug kit. My doctor thinks that partly the infection was caused by bug bites and so we decided to try this to see if it would work. The thing is, no one is having this issue. Vampy doesn't have them in his room so we are pretty sure it is spiders. No one else has bites like this on their legs so it's just me. Damned spiders anyway. Anyway, we didn't find what I was looking for at Wal-mart for the bed but I did find some pillow protectors and I got those. I also got all kinds of excited because I found all five seasons of Daria on DVD plus two movies that were in the same case as all five seasons. It was really cheap too so I baught it. I also found this really ginormous bath towl that I just had to have. I somehow managed to lose my other huge one so I replaced it. We actually had to go to Shopco for the bedbug kit. It's alright though, at least I got it and it's on the bed. I'm still hoping one day to get my pillow top matress, not just a pillow top but a double pillow top matress. If I can't get a double pillow top, I'll settle for a single pillow top one.

Well, I'm feeling very very frustrated and very unhappy at the present time and this entry has already taken me like three days to write so I'll close for now and write again when I have more to say.

    <3Hugs to all<3
